Raynaud's syndrome is a vascular disorder affecting distal extremities, with arteriole spasms and blood-flow restrictions usually triggered by cold temperatures or emotional stress. The syndrome differentiation of TCM for Raynaud's syndrome is mostly yang deficiency and cold stagnation, often treated with the method of warming the meridians, dissipating cold and unblocking the meridian. In this case, based on the close relationship between qi deficiency and yang deficiency, the treatment is mainly set on tonifying qi, and also activating blood. Modified Yupingfeng Powder was prescribed to warm and dissipate cold. Qi and blood was simultaneously emphasized to achieve the good effects.
