Professor Zhou Yabin adheres to the comprehensive analysis to both pulse manifestations and syndromes in the treatment of heart diseases, and makes good use of the theory of qi and blood, taking the smooth circulation of qi and blood as the primary objective. He pays attention to the theory of blood stasis, aiming to eliminate it yet not damaging the vital qi. He focuses on regulating the spleen and kidney and caring for the vital qi. He bases his treatment of heart diseases on syndrome differentiation, learning from the previous experience and flexibly modifying it but not limited by it. He mainly uses classical prescriptions and supplements them with non-classical ones, good at addressing the root cause while taking into account the manifestations at the same time. He is adept at choosing the more reasonable methods by examining the pathogenesis of diseases and making flexible adjustments with rigorous prescriptions, achieving remarkable effects immediately. The article selects some of Professor Zhou's effective cases of treating heart diseases, revealing his clinical ideas and medication rules for the treatment of coronary heart disease, rheumatic heart disease and arrhythmia by using those classical prescriptions and non-classical ones, which is worthy of clinical reference.
