Gastroesophageal reflux cough is a common disease of the respiratory system and a special type of the gastroesophageal reflux disease, which belongs to the category of "gastric cough" in traditional Chinese medicine. Prof. Wang Shuchen takes the disordered spleen and stomach qi activities as the key pathogenesis for this disease, and unsmooth flow of the liver as a trigger. For this reason, key to treatment lies in the regulation of the spleen and stomach qi activities. ,Banxia Xiexin, Decoction is used as a basic prescription, in combination with qiregulating medicinals. Many such patients have been treated this way, all with good effects. This has offered a train of thought for clinical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux cough.
