This paper summarized Professor LIN Lan's experiences in treating hypothyroidisms. In Professor LIN Lan's opinion, kidney-,yang, deficiency is the root of hypothyroidisms'pathogenesis while ,qi, stagnation, phlegm obstruction, blood stasis are the manifestations. In the treatment, warming and tonifying kidney-,yang, is the main therapeutic method. She stressed grasping holistically, including reinforcing ,yang, from yin while warming ,yang, activating qi, eliminating phlegm, removing stasis while tonifying deficiency, regulating liver, heart, spleen or other organs while treating kidney. She is also good at using emotional articles of blood and flesh. Besides, combination of Western medicine and comprehensive regulation is also emphasized.
