The etiology and pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease is perplexing. Its loation is the kidney, involving dysfunction of the other internal organs. The pathological basis is renal micro-Zhengjia caused by various causes, affecting the kidney function. Professor LYU Renhe has his unique clinical experience on treating chronic kidney disease. This article summarizes the experience of professor LYU in the treatment of chronic kidney disease from the liver theory. Its theoretical basis is "liver and kidney homologous". Its main treatment thought is discharging liver and regulating Qi, clearing heat and promoting diuresis and nourishing liver Yin. Also this paper summarizes the characteristics of using the herbs of treating chronic kidney disease by professor LYU.
