Summary of case history, Liu, male, 83, repeated lower limb edema 8 months. Before August, the patient had no obvious cause for edema of both lower limbs, which was persistent. The patient was treated in Fujian Provincial Hospital. The biochemical examination showed that albumin: 30 g/L, which was diagnosed as hypoalbuminemia. After treatment with human serum albumin and furosemide tablets, the symptoms were improved and discharged. After discharge, edema of both lower limbs still recurred, the same as before. After receiving treatment on July 6, 2021, Professor Zhang Xikui identified this case as stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency and stagnation of water-dampness. The treatment was soothing liver and invigorating spleen, promoting diuresis and detumescence. The prescription was modified Chaishao Liujunzi Decoction Sini Powder and Wuling Powder.
