The patient was a 65-year-old male with an 11-year history of prostatitis with a protracted and repeated course. Present symptoms include perineal pain and discomfort involving perianal, frequent urination, occasional urethral burning, no white turbid dripping, soreness of waist and knees, easy to wake up at night, difficulty sleeping, dark tongue with little coating, and stringy pulse. TCM diagnosis is turbid essence, syndrome differentiation is kidney deficiency damp-heat, essence chamber apraxia syndrome, western medicine diagnosis is chronic prostatitis, the treatment is to invigorate the kidney and regulate the mind, clear the essence chamber, and use traditional Chinese medicine decoction combined with acupuncture to treat the patient.
