This article discusses the experience of professor ZHOU Hui-fang in treating dysmenorrhea-associated endometriosis from the following aspects:the cause of the disease, the thought of therapy, and the clinical treatment experience.Professor ZHOU supposes that kidney deficiency and blood stasis is the major pathogenesis, based on the Chinese medical classics and the therapeutic principle of"the law of menstrual cycle regulation"first created by Chinese medicine master XIA Guicheng, as well as Professor ZHOU’s clinical experience.Notably, the formation of blood stasis is closely related to the deficiency of kidney yang.Accordingly, She raised the therapeutic principle:symptomatic treatment in acute condition and radical treatment in chronic case, also referred to relieving pain when dysmenorrhea occurs and tonifying kidney and regulating menstrual cycle during remission period.Additionally, clinical efficacy is significantly improved, under the guidance of treatment principle based on syndrome differentiation and simultaneous treatment of oringin and superficiality, as well as patient’s self-regulation.
