摘要:Overflow pulse or superior thenar pulse was first showed in Nanjing (Canon On Eighty-One Difficult Issues). The pulse condition, formation mechanism of pulse and clinical significance are scattered in ancient and modern medical books and pulse cases. ZHANG Shanlei gave a detailed explanation of the main disease of superior thenar pulse and entering ulnar pulse in the book of Maixue Zhengyi, and emphasized the important role of superior thenar pulse and entering ulnar pulse in clinical practice. LIU Shaowu, a famous veteran Chinese medicine doctor in China, summarized the “overflow pulse” and put forward the pulse condition, the formation mechanism, disease correspondence of the pulse and syndrome-treatment based on the pulse. But the discussion is still not systematic. This article generalized and summarized the overflow pulse based on clinical medical records and ancient and modern doctors’ understanding of overflow pulse in order to further clarify the significance and value of Superior thenar pulse in clinical diagnosis and treatment.

摘要:The physiological function of meridians is closely related to the meridian circulation and Zang-Fu organs.Dai meridian that runs around the waist and abdomen, networks Zang-Fu organs in the waist and abdomen, and regulates the functions.Dai meridian circulates around the waist and abdomen, constraint meridians and collaterals.Since the waist and abdomen are the hinge of the body, Dai meridian plays a very important role in the Qi movement and motor functions of the human body. The functional connections and running route intersection of Dai meridian and others meridians provide the theoretical basis for their clinical application. In the circulation of the meridians Qi, Dai meridian can accumulate the whole body.Zang-Fu organs and meridians can also be involved with Dai meridian. In clinical practice, it is not only used to treat local pain and involved waist and leg pain, but also to assist the regulation of other meridians'Qi and blood functions, such as the transport function of spleen and stomach, the drainage function of liver and gallbladder, and the regulation function of Ren, Du and Chong meridians on growth and reproduction.Dai meridian can also be used to regulate the function of the vital Qi and the three-Jiao water channel. In clinical application, we can choose local treatment of Dai meridian, or the whole treatment of the functional connection between Dai meridian and other meridians.

摘要:ObjectiveTo analyze Professor WANG Zhenchang's clinical experience on treating liver cirrhosis.MethodsProfessor WANG Zhenchang's clinical experience in the treatment of liver cirrhosis was discussed from the aspects of etiology and pathogenesis, rule of medication, etc. The medication rule of Rougan Huaxian Granules (柔肝化纤颗粒) in the treatment of liver cirrhosis was summarized, and a typical case was listed.ResultsProfessor WANG Zhenchang believed that deficiency, dampness and blood stasis ran through the whole course of liver cirrhosis, and the three coexisted and caused each other. The etiology of liver cirrhosis was mainly due to liver and kidney Yin deficiency, loss of liver support, liver failing to disperse and drain, endogenous or exogenous invasion of dampness and blood stasis, which was associated with liver due to deficiency. Treatment should be based on the principle of nourishing liver and kidney, dispelling blood stasis and eliminating dampness. Professor WANG's treatment of liver diseases follows the concepts that "liver disease would transform into spleen, and spleen should be strengthened first" and "liver and kidney are homologous" . On this basis, Professor WANG created Rougan Huaxian Granules, a clinical prescription for the treatment of liver cirrhosis, and confirmed that a good clinical effect can be obtained by modified Rougan Huaxian Granules according to syndrome differentiation.ConclusionBased on differentiation of symptoms and signs and according to different pathogenesis such as dampness, blood stasis and deficiency, Professor WANG Zhenchang uses Rougan Huaxian Granules as the main prescription for liver cirrhosis which can effectively control the disease development of liver cirrhosis patients, worthy of reference and study.

摘要:Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease and is difficult to treat clinically. The main symptom of rheumatoid arthritis is symmetrical and erosive polyarthritis, which can damage the articular cartilage and surrounding soft tissue, and even erodes bone and involves multiple organs. Western medicine has no specific drug and there are many adverse reactions of antirheumatic drugs, which makes it difficult for many patients to insist on taking drugs. Traditional Chinese medicine has unique advantages on treating this disease. Chaihu Guizhi Decoction (柴胡桂枝汤), as a famous prescription, is widely used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. The pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis is healthy energy deficiency and evil excess, and this prescription runs through strengthening body resistance and eliminating evil, with exquisite medication and proper compatibility, and can recover the functions of spleen ascending and stomach descending and relieve pain urgently. The application of Chaihu Guizhi Decoction in the treatment of this disease has definite curative effect on the syndromes of Shaoyang and Taiyang. This article is intended to elaborate from the following aspects: the treatment of comorbidity of Taiyang and Shaoyang can obtain a good initial effect; Bi syndrome is derived from a variety of changes in the disease, mild symptoms can be used together with a variety of therapies. The treatment is dredging the triple energizer and regulating Qiactivity; the prescription attaches great importance to Qi movement and has definite curative effect when applied clinically. It is proved that Chaihu Guizhi Decoction is effective in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Whether it can control and cure the disease needs further study and confirmation.

摘要:Chronic heart failure (CHF) refers to a severe disease in which the systolic and diastolic functions of the heart decline, resulting in impaired cardiac systolic ejection and/or filling capacity, and the heart cannot pump blood to meet the needs of tissue metabolism. It is the terminal stage of the occurrence and development of various cardiovascular diseases. Such patients have poor quality of life and poor prognosis. Traditional Chinese medicine has a very significant effect on heart failure, and can significantly improve the symptoms of chest tightness, suffocation and edema in patients with heart failure. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine theory, heart failure is located in the heart, involving the liver, spleen, lungs and kidneys. Professor GUO Weiqin believes that contemporary people's improper diet, eating fat and sweet taste damage the spleen and stomach, or work pressure, emotional anxiety and depression lead to emotional depression. All can cause heart failure, which is always a disease of deficiency origin and excess standard and mixed cold and heat. The quality of life of such patients is low, and the prognosis is poor. Therefore, in the treatment process, Professor GUO Weiqin, aiming at the complex etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, advocates that in the treatment of heart failure, we should treat it from liver and spleen on the basis of supplementing Qi, activating blood circulation and promoting diuresis, and take soothing liver and strengthening spleen, supplementing Qi, activating blood circulation and warming Yang and promoting urination as the main treatment methods, with good clinical results.

摘要:Professor LIU Jianhe takesthe pathogenesis of Wendan Decoction (温胆汤) and the pathogenesis of hypertension are both phlegm-turbidity and dampness-heat, and the syndrome treated by Wendan Decoction is closely related to the symptoms of hypertension as the entry point. It is believed that Wendan Decoction can eliminate the phlegm-turbidity and dampness-heat by removing phlegm and relaxing the middle, harmonizing stomach andbile-draining, and clearing heat and drying dampness, so as to eliminate all the symptoms of hypertension. From the perspective of modern medicine, Wendan Decoction can effectively control and lower blood pressure by inhibiting the activation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RASS), diuresis, inhibiting sympathetic excitationand protecting vascular endothelial function. Using this theory as a guide and using the soup flexibly to prevent and treat hypertension, the effect is quite remarkable.

摘要:Connective tissue disease can be characterized by the involvement of various systems throughout the body. Among them, the complication of blood system damage is the most common, which is manifested as anemia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia. Professor Jiang Quan maintains that anemia and leukopenia belong to the category of consumptive diseases, whose differentiation and treatment should be based on the deficiency syndrome of qi and blood, and whose main treatment is benefiting qi and replenishing blood. He believes that thrombocytopenia should be differentiated and treated by referring to the syndromes of blood diseases, whose key pathogenesis is fire, deficiency, and blood stasis, and whose treatment should be based on descending fire, tonifying deficiency and removing blood stasis, especially on removing blood stasis. Professor Jiang Quan treats the complication of blood system damage by tracing back to its root causes, identifying its pathogenesis, integrating Chinese medicine with western medicine, and has repeatedly achieved good results.

摘要:Dan (瘅) figuratively means heat in traditional Chinese medicine. In modern medicine, diabetes in its early and middle stages can be divided into the syndrome of spleen heat and the syndrome of pure-heat dispersionthirst, in which the core pathogenesis of the spleen heat syndrome is the flatulence and endogenous heat, while the core pathogenesis of the syndrome of pure-heat dispersion-thirst is the liver depression, spleen deficiency and stomach heat. At these two stages of the disease, clearing heat is viewed as the fundamental treatment for either syndrome.Peony root, fresh rehmannia root and amur cork-tree are commonly used in a minor prescription by Academician Tong Xiaolin, referred to as Liangcui Yin, for clearing heat, cooling blood and reducing blood sugar. The prescription is mostly used in the treatment of diabetes with the symptoms of heat depression transforming into fire, burning stomach yin and consuming blood, fier-heat extremely intense and rampant. Peony root can clear heat, cool blood, and disperse blood stasis to protect collaterals. Fresh rehmannia root, whose flavour and nature is sweet and cold, can cool blood and nourish stomach yin. Amur cork-tree, whose flavour and nature is bitter and cold, can clear fire and reduce blood sugar. Bitter-cold amur cork-tree clears the stomach fire, while sweet-cold fresh rehmannia root nourishes the stomach yin, clearing heat and cooling blood, preventing the fire poison from consuming blood, also bearing the meaning of "treating collaterals in the early stage, clearing collaterals in the whole process" . According to the heat intensity, the dosage range of the three herbs in the prescription is usually 15-30 g in clinical use. If the fire in either syndrome is intense and rampant, the dosage usually starts at 30 g.

摘要:The basic pathogenesis of the depression syndrome is the stagnation of qi movement and the dysfunction of zang-fu viscera. At the beginning, the syndrome is mainly manifested as the liver depression and qi stagnation due to the internal injuries of the seven emotions, resulting in the liver’s failure in conveying qi smoothly. If the syndrome is further aggravated, it will involve the dysfunction of multiple internal organs, yet its core pathogenesis is still the liver qi stagnation. Academician Tong Xiaolin often treats this depression syndrome with a minor prescription consisting of three Chinese medicines: prepared nutgrass galingale rhizome, finger citron and citron fruit. Prepared nutgrass galingale rhizome mainly acts on the liver, good as dispersing the stagnated liver qi for relieving the qi stagnation, regulating qi-flowing for activating the stagnancy, regulating menstruation and relieving pain, and its dosage range is mostly 9-15 g. Finger citron, with a comparatively milder effect, acts mainly on the spleen and stomach, adept at dispersing the liver and regulating qi, comforting the stomach and relieving pain in the stomach, eliminating dampness and phlegm, and its dosage range is mostly 9-15 g. The effect of citron fruit is similar to that of finger citron, both of which can harmonize the liver and spleen, whose power of resolving phlegm and relieving cough is slightly better, and its dosage range is mostly 9-15 g. Each of the three medicines has its own emphasis, but they can also be compatible and cooperate with each other to fully play the role of relieving depression and regulating qi.

摘要:Professor Wang Wei believes that the function of the spleen is closely related to xerophthalmia. The spleen is the required foundation. The dysfunction of the spleen can lead to the dysfunction of many viscera, resulting in "yin deficiency", "yang deficiency" and "channel obstruction". The biochemical deficiency of body fluid or excessive consumption of body fluid can lead to xerophthalmia, which should be treated from the spleen. Young and middle-aged patients have sufficient healthy qi, and mostly yin deficiency and dampness-heat syndrome. The treatment should focus on nourishing yin and clearing heat of middle energizer, so Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), Zhizi (Fructus Gardeniae), Shengdihuang (Radix Rehmanniae), Juhua (Flos Chrysanthemi), Bohe (Herba Menthae), Jinyinhua (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae), etc. to clear heat, Baidoukou (Fructus Amomi Kravanh), Cangzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis), Fuling (Poria), etc. to invigorate spleen and drain dampness, Maidong (Radix Ophiopogonis), Yuzhu (Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati), Beishashen (Radix Glehniae), Nanshashen (Radix Adenophorae), etc.to nourish lung-stomach yin. Xerophthalmia is related to yin deficiency, dampness-heat, qi stagnation and emotion, and so the treatment should also pay attention to emotional problems. Yin and yang interact with each other. If there is no yang, then yin will not be transformed. The spleen is in charge of ascending yang, if it fails, then the essence and qi cannot ascend to nourish the head, face and five sense organs, and the body fluid cannot be transfused tomoisten the eyes. Therefore, the treatment should also considering ascending yang qi, and Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae), Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri) are often added to regulate emotions and ascend yang qi.

摘要:Henoch-Schonlein purpura is a common IgA mediated systemic vasculitis disease in children. In the traditional Chinese medicine, it belongs to the category of "blood syndrome" . Professor WANG Junhong has rich clinical experience of treating Henoch-Schonlein purpura. She Professor WANG Junhong seizes the key to the pathogenesis, treats Henoch-Schonlein purpura according to syndrome differentiation, and has rich clinical experience, In terms of syndrome differentiation, Professor WANG emphasized syn-drome differentiation of deficiency and excess, lightness and seriousness according to the clinical characteristics and course of the disease and the combination of syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation. She proposes the view of treating Henoch-Schon-lein purpura from the spleen, and she prefers using the drugs to clear the heat of lung and pharynx, as well as protecting the diges-tive system. The method of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis should be performed throughout the whole process of the treatment. Thus Great curative effects have been made.

摘要:Optic neuromyelitis (NMO) is an autoimmune disease, which has the characteristics of expensive treatment and high recurrence rate. At present, the Chinese medicine community does not pay enough attention to this disease. Professor ZHANG Lei summarized the pathogenesis of NMO into three aspects: the mechanism of poisonous heat intrusion, the injury of the muscles and the erosion of the pulp; the tendency of phlegm and blood stasis, and the veins are blocked; The five internal organs are incapable of insulting, and the blood is exhausted. To sum up, the essential essence of NMO is: combining disease and syndrome, distinguishing the primary and secondary heat, blood stasis, phlegm, and fire; the same color and pulse, distinguishing the shallowness and depth of the meridians and organs; Summarize the five syndrome treatment principles of removing turbid and tonifying method, nourishing dryness and producing fluid of the body, removing dampness and relaxing muscles, removing blood stasis and tonifying the collaterals, and Guyuan Qiwei method, combined with specific treatment cases to further prove its therapeutic effect.
