摘要:On the basis of traditional eight-principal syndrome differentiation and medical theories of past dynasties, Professor SHEN Shuwen combined with years of clinical practice, proposed a “three dimensions and six principles“ syndrome differentiation method for esophageal cancer, integrating the six principals of cold and heat, deficiency and excess, reverse and stagnation throughout the cause and nature of disease, and disease state ofesophageal cancer. The main method of clinical diagnosis is to absorb food into the grains and store the stomach qi,and the treatment is to resolve phlegm and promote qi, detoxify and remove blood stasis, etc., especially to moisturize and reduce, often obtain good effect. This article combined typical cases to introduce Professor SHEN’s experience insyndrome differentiation and treatment for esophageal cancer based on the “three dimensions and six principles“ , in order to provide differentiation and treatment ideas for TCM related treatment.

摘要:This paper introduced Professor XIE Jingri's experience on treating chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) . Professor XIE holds that CAG is caused by deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality, closely related to deficiency, stagnation, blood stasis and toxin. Deficiency of spleen and stomach, imbalance of Qi mechanism and mutual combination of blood stasis and toxin are the basic pathogenesis, which belongs to deficiency of origin and excess of superficiality. The main treatment is to strengthen the spleen and stomach, replenish Qi and nourish yin, to soothe the liver and relieve depression, to regulate Qi, to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, to clear heat and detoxify. The curative effect is remarkable. And two proven cases were attached.

摘要:DAI Lisan was one of the four famous traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)doctors in Yunnan Province. Hededicated his entire life to study and practice TCM, also the development of clinical and educational career. During his 49 years' career, DAI Lisan has saved many seriously ill patients' lives, gaining him great reputation in Yunnan. He has unique and valuable experiences. He believes that Yang syndrome is easy to cure. On the contrary, Yin syndrome is hard. Therefore, he was good at the method of "turning to Yang syndrome", namely, he would use high-dose of heat and warm drugs to turn Yin syndrome to Yang syndrome, then use clearing-heat drugs to treat Yang syndrome. He is good at "Opening door" method which is applied to smooth Qi of Taiyang in order to expel pathogen Qi. Additionally, he canonizes Yang Qi and is good at using warm drugs with high dose, such as Fuzi(Aconm Lateralis Radix Praeparaia), Ganjiang(Zingiberis Rhizoma), Rougui(Cinnamomi Cortex), etc. He values the healthy energy. Additionally, he inheritances classic prescriptions and uses them flexibly according to patients' syndromes. He likes food therapy besides medicines. Furthermore, he creates many new and effective prescriptions, such as Xiaobai Fuzi Tianma Decoction(小白附子天麻汤), Linggui Jiangban Decoration(姜桂苓半汤), Sangye Lianbei Powder(桑叶连贝散), etc. Overall, summarizing and studying the relevant contents has a positive effect on the improvement of clinical effects.

摘要:Acute appendicitis is a common surgical disease, ranking the first in all kinds of acute abdomen diseases. It belongs to the category of “intestinal carbuncle“ in traditional Chinese medicine.LI Ke, an old traditional Chinese medical doctor, believed that “all diseases are caused by Qi disorder“ and clinical syndrome differentiation should be based on “understanding its source before understanding its development“ .He summarized the pathogenesis of acute appendicitis as deficiency of Qi, block of Shaoyang movement and transformation, deficiency of local part and transforming into dampness, heat and fire. Therefore, in the treatment of acute appendicitis, the core theory is “Qi-dampness“ , the mechanism is “the pathogenesis governs all diseases“ , and the method is “mediating the pivot of Shaoyang“ .The theory guides the practice, and the treatment of acute appendicitis with the addition and subtraction of Dachaihu Decoction(大柴胡汤)is effective.

摘要:Polycystic ovary syndrome is a complex gynecological endocrine disease, incidence rate is high in childbearing age women, which often causes infertility owing to ovulation disorders. Western medicine mostly uses drug ovulation induction or assisted reproductive technology, but there are many adverse reactions. According to many years of clinical experience, Zhao Wei chief physician believes that kidney deficiency is the root of the disease. Kidney deficiency leads to the loss of Chong Ren's uterus, and blood stasis and phlegm dampness lead to poor Qi and blood circulation. According to the etiology, pathogenesis and menstrual cycle changes of the disease, she advocates the combination of tonifying and dredging, strengthening the kidney and regulating the cycle to treat infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome, and has achieved good clinical effect.

摘要:ObjectiveTo study the clinical efficacy and safety of Fuzheng Jiedu Formula (Reinforcing Healthy Qi and Removing Toxin Granules, FZJDF) in children who suffer fromcontinuous or chronic immune thrombocytopenia with pattern of qi failing to control blood.Methods120 children who suffer from continuous or chronic immune thrombocytopenia with pattern of qi failing to control blood were selected from the outpatients of Professor Yu Huiping in Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from February 2017 to September 2020. They were randomly divided into experimental group (n=60) and control group (n=60) according to the time sequence. Patients in both groups were given multi-vitamin tablets and compound rutin tablets. The experimental group was additionally given FZJDF, and the control group was given the placebo (the simulant granule of FZJDF). Two groups were daily treated with one prescription divided into two doses, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and the treatment course was 6 months. The total effective rate, TCM pattern effetiveness, platelet count, TCM pattern scores, haemorrhage grading and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared before and 6 months after treatment.ResultsThe total effective rate was 63.33% in the experimental group and 13.16% in the control group after the treatment for 6 months. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). The effective rate of TCM pattern was 96.67% in the experimental group and 50.00% in the control group. The differenceswere statistically significant (P<0.01). Comparing with before treatment, the efficacy of improving platelet count in the experimental group was increased after the treatment for 1, 3, 6 months, The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). TCM pattern scores (primary and secondary symptoms) of patients were both reduced after treatment in two groups compared with those before treatment (P<0. 05, P<0.01). At six months after treatment, TCM pattern scores (primary and secondary symptoms) of patients in the experiment group were all lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). Comparing the haemorrhage grade scale of two groups, the total improvement rate of the experimental group was 98.33% and it was better than that (55.26%) in the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).ConclusionFZJDF demonstrates its benefits for children who suffer from continuous or chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura with pattern of qi failing to control blood. It can increase the platelet count with high safety profile.
摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effects of interactive scalp acupuncture on cognitive function, depression, anxiety and sleep quality in patients with post-stroke patients.MethodsA total of 445 patients with stroke who had been admitted to the Rehabilitation Department of Nan'ao People's Hospital, Shenzhen Second People's Hospital and Shenzhen Futian District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2019 to May 2020 were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group (n=223) and the control group (n=222), with 23 cases shed in the experimental group and 22 cases shed in the control group. Two groups of patients were treated with standard care and conventional rehabilitation exercise therapy. The experimental group was given interactive head acupuncture therapy, while the control group was given conventional scalp acupuncture and cognitive training therapy for a course of 8 weeks. Before the initial treatment, at the end of the treatment course, and at the follow-up 2 months later, Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA), Mini-mental State Examination (MMSE), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) were evaluated. The levels of serum Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and Nerve Growth factor (NGF) were measured before and after the first treatment.ResultsAt the end of the treatment course and at the follow-up, the scores of MoCA, MMSE and MBI in the experimental group were increased compared with those before treatment (P<0.01), and the scores of HAMD, HAMA and PSQI were decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.01). MoCA scores increased (P<0.01) and HAMD scores of the control group decreased (P<0.01) both at the end of the treatment course and at the follow-up, whereas MMSE and MBI scores of the control group increased only at the end of treatment (P<0.01). The scores of MoCA, MMSE and MBI in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group at the end of the course and at the follow-up (P<0.01), and the scores of HAMD, HAMA and PSQI in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). In terms of serological indexes, the levels of BDNF and NGF in both groups at the end of the course of treatment were higher than those before treatment (P<0.01), and those in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.01).ConclusionInteractive scalp acupuncture can significantly improve not only the cognitive function, depression, anxiety but also the sleep quality and self-care ability of patients with stroke, and promote the recovery of cerebral nerve function. 摘要:The syndrome of qi deficiency and yang debility is a common pathogenesis in the elderly patients with diabetes, promoting the occurrence and development of various diabetic complications such as angiopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy, etc. Academician Tong Xiaolin often uses milkvetch root, Chinese angelica and epimedium herb as a prescription basis in his clinical practice of treating senile diabetes with the syndrome. Milkvetch root, known as the best herb for invigorating qi, has the nature of ascending qi and can fill qi in blood vessels, which is commonly used 24 g or 30 g. When Chinese angelica and milkvetch root are used together to promote the mutual growth of qi and blood, it can also nourish blood and promote the blood circulation to protect collaterals, with a common dosage of 15 g. Epimedium herb can warm the kidney and activate yang, and can be administered in a small dose to warm up and dissipate cold pathogens, to generate and transform qi and blood inexhaustibly, with a commonly used dosage of 9 g, and 15 g for the extreme yang deficiency. When the three herbs are used at the same time, they can impove qi, blood and yang, strengthening the effects of each other, which can both improve the "aging state" and are also of great benefit to the improvement of various diabetes complications.

摘要:Diffuse thyroid lesions are the common ultrasound manifestation of hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism caused by a variety of reasons, including hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis, etc. Academician Tong Xiaolin believes that this type of disease is mainly caused by emotional disorders and presents a development process of "stagnation, blood stasis, deficiency" . For its treatment, attention should be paid to recognizing the cause and pursuing the effect, regulating the states and treating the target. For the state of stagnation of phlegm and fire in its early stage, common selfheal fruit-spike, catclaw buttercup root and common scouring rush herb can clear heat-fire, dissipate phlegm and resolve masses, regulating the state and target at the same time, with the commonly used clinical dosage of common selfheal fruit-spike 30-60 g, catclaw buttercup root 15-30 g, and common scouring rush herb 15 g.

摘要:Academician Tong Xiaolin divides type 2 diabetes into four stages: stagnation, heat, deficiency and debility. When the disease reaches its last two stages, there will occur many complications. In these two stages, the core pathogenesis is insuficient vital qi, deficiency of both yin and yang, accompanied by blood stasis. Its treatment should focus on strengthening vital qi, regulating and tonifying yin and yang, supplemented by promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis, and treating various complications according to their syndromes. Cassia bark, common macrocarpium fruit and dried fresh ginseng are the three herbs in a minor prescription commonly used by Professor Tong Xiaolin for benefiting and strengthening vital qi, invigorating yin and yang. The three medicines, collectively called Wencui Decoction, can always be used in combination in the late stage of type 2 diabetes with the syndrome of yin and yang deficiency, with the common dosage of cassia bark 3-30 g, common macrocarpium fruit 9-60 g, and dried fresh ginseng 6-30 g.
摘要:Professor Li Jing believes that weakness of the spleen and stomach is the key to the pathogenesis of digestive tract tumor. Intermingled deficiency and cold are common, and blood stasis and toxin are often mixed and lead to disease. In addition, patients with digestive tract tumor have long-term emotional discomfort, which leads to stagnation of liver qi, while wood stagnation constrains earth, so abnormal transportation and transformation, and ascending and descending of qi movement appear. It is necessary to treat the disease by warming and toning the middle energizer, regulating qi, ascending and descending at the same time, removing blood stasis and generating muscles, and assisting with detoxification, harmonizing the internal organs and qi, coordinating the upper and lower parts, etc. Self-made Canwei Decoction (残胃方,CWD) is often used. For excessive weakness of the spleen and stomach, Modified Four Gentlemen Decoction can be used. For qi deficiency leading to stagnation, Modified Frigid Extremities Powder can be used. For chronic disease leading to damage to blood vessel and blockage of collaterals, Shijianchuan (Herba Salviae Chinensis) and other same-type medicinals can be used for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and Baiji (Rhizoma Bletillae) can be used for dispersing swelling and generating muscles. For insomnia, Xingren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum), Zisuzi (Fructus Perillae), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Yuliren (Semen Pruni), Baiziren (Semen Platycladi), etc.can be added. For diarrhea, Shiliupi (Pericarpium Granati), Wumei (Fructus Mume) and Yizhiren (Fructus Alpiniae Oxyphyllae) can be added. For Removing wind and dampness, Xuchangqing (Radix Cynanchi Paniculati), Qianghuo (Radix et Rhizoma Notopterygii) and Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) can be added.

摘要:Membranous Nephropathy (MN) is a kind of chronic nephritic disease. The peak period of onset is from 30 to 50 years old, and 60% to 80% of membranous nephropathy is characterized by nephrotic syndrome (NS) . Idiopathic Membranous Nephropa-thy (IMN) accounts for about 2/3 of membranous nephropathy. According to the amount of urine protein, it can be divided into three grades: the low, medium and high-risk. TCM holds that "Da Qi" deficiency is the etiology of high-risk IMN, leading "Da Qi" to the pathology of "delay shipment, and do not rise, butnot to get together" . Clinical research on the different pathological states of "Da Qi" shows that high-risk IMN from three aspects of "tonifying qi and clearing the source, promoting blood circulation and clar-ifying the source, and strengthening the kidney and restoring the source", which has certain guiding significance for clinical prac-tice.

摘要:The clinical experience of Professor QIU He-Ming in treating idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) was Summarized.Professor QIU He-Ming believes that the main pathogenesis of ITP is characterized by deficiency in the origin and excess in the superficiality, the deficiency in the origin is manifested as the insufficiency of five zang organs, and the excess in the superficiality is manifested as the fire-heat intensity.Following the thoughts for the treatment of blood syndrome recorded in Treatise on Blood Syndromes, a book written by TANG Rong-Chuan in Qing dynasty, Professor QIU He-Ming adopted the tetrad-therapy of stopping bleeding, eliminating blood stasis, calming blood, and nourishing blood to treat ITP.During the treatment of ITP, therapy of stopping bleeding should be used firstly and can be achieved by astringency-inducing drugs and cooling blood, eliminating blood stasis should be used based on etiological differentiation and the herbs for activating blood should be avoided, calming blood is used for eleminating the pathogenic factors and herbs for tranquilizing heart, liver and lung can be utilized, and nourishing blood is used for tonifying five zang organs, in particular for tonifying liver, spleen and kidney. For the treatment of IPT, Professor QIU He-Ming has estalished a prescription of Ziyin Zhixue Recipe to stop bleeding, eliminate blood stasis, calm blood, and nourish blood, and the prescription is mainly composed of the herbs of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata or Radix Rehmanniae, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Fructus Corni, Herba Agrimoniae, Radix Melastomae, Herba Cirsii, Fructus Forsythiae, Flos Schizonepetae, and Radix Glycirrhizae. The modification of Ziyin Zhixue Recipe based on symptoms is effective on relieving the clinical symptoms, improving the platelet level, and can make the patients be gradually free from steroid dependence.
摘要:Introduction:Recurrent cystitis, defined as at least two episodes within six months or three episodes within one year, presented among about one fifth to one-third of women with history of cystitis or urinary tract infection (UIT) according to previous studies. However, the use of antibiotics can only resolve the urinary symptoms but not reduce the frequency of urinary symptoms recurrence, and meanwhile increasing rates of adverse effect of repetitive antimicrobial therapy and bacterial antimicrobial resistance became clinical concerns. This case report aims to present a case of recurrent cystitis treated by electroacupuncture (EA) in reducing recurrent frequency, amount of antibiotics used and urinary symptoms.Case presentation:A 42-year-old woman diagnosed with recurrent cystitis for five years presented mainly with recurrent dysuria, urine frequency and urgency. She received EA treatment 3 to 5 sessions a week and 30 min per session from August 2019 to August 2020 with 3-month suspension due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).During the treatment, both the frequency of recurrent urinary episode and symptoms were reduced. Although there was some fluctuation, the mean frequencies of daytime voiding reduced dramatically from 17.7 to 8.3, and night-time voiding from 4 to 1, and the number of voiding with moderate urgency was reduced from 17.7 to 2.3, and severe urgency dropped from 2.7 to 0. The patient's scores of overactive bladder symptom score (OABSS) and overactive bladder questionnaire short form (OAB-q SF) were also improved. The postvoid residual urine volume (PVR) reduced from 42 mL to less than 10 mL.Conclusion:This case of individual effect of EA for a woman with frequent recurrent cystitis suggested a plausible benefit of EA on reducing frequency, amount of antibiotics used and symptoms of recurrent cystitis, but further research is necessary to proof the efficacy and effectiveness among a wider population.
