摘要:Postpartum arthralgia is a common clinical disease in rheumatism clinic. The disease mainly has self-conscious symptoms. The current modern medical research on the disease is not perfect, treatment methods are limited and the curative effect is unsatisfactory. In traditional Chinese medicine, this disease belongs to the category of "Bi syndrome", also known as arthralgia.Postpartum arthralgia and common arthralgia are different in many ways, like etiology, pathogenesis and treatments.Postpartum period is closely related to the loss of blood, body fluid and Qi.The serious hurt of promordial Qi combines with improper care and the exogenous wind-evil invading the body, lead to the disease. If Qi and blood are blocked for a long time, it is easy to produce "deficiency" and "blood stasis" .In treatment, it is important to invigorate Qi, nourish blood and promote blood circulation. The state of postpartum period is inclined to the dysfunction of the five Zang-organs, resulting in different clinical manifestations. Professor WANG Yue contributes the pathogenesis of postpartum arthralgia to "blood deficiency with the attack of wind" . He believes that the deficiency syndrome of postpartum arthralgia is more common, but there is still excessive syndrome. The syndrome type is mixed. The deficiency and excess of the disease behaves as the deficiency and excess of five Zang-organs.Regulating Qi, blood and the functions of five Zang-organs is the key treatment.Considering the different physiological and pathological of five Zangorgans, thisarticle analyzed relationships between the characteristics of five Zang-organs and the pathogenesis of postpartum arthralgia in or derto summarize the experience of Professor WANG Yue's theory of treating postpartum arthralgia, and there was a case for examination.

摘要:The lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in clinical practice. The prognosis of the lung cancer patients with malignant pleural effusion (MPE) is often poor. "Metal-water generation" is also known as "Mutual Generation between the Lung and Kidney" and "Lung and Kidney Homogeny". The lung and kidney are closely related as they are both involved in breathing, coordination of fluid distribution and metabolism and they are connected by meridians. Deficiency of the lung and kidney is an important pathogenic factor of MPE in the lung cancer. Clinical treatment often aggravates the deficiency of the lung and kidney. The treatment of lung cancer MPE emphasizes the treatment of both the lung and kidney. The theory of metal-water generating can guide the prescription and medication of lung cancer MPE, which is expounded in combination with the typical clinical records.

摘要:Raynaud's syndrome is a vascular disorder affecting distal extremities, with arteriole spasms and blood-flow restrictions usually triggered by cold temperatures or emotional stress. The syndrome differentiation of TCM for Raynaud's syndrome is mostly yang deficiency and cold stagnation, often treated with the method of warming the meridians, dissipating cold and unblocking the meridian. In this case, based on the close relationship between qi deficiency and yang deficiency, the treatment is mainly set on tonifying qi, and also activating blood. Modified Yupingfeng Powder was prescribed to warm and dissipate cold. Qi and blood was simultaneously emphasized to achieve the good effects.

摘要:Dilated cardiomyopathy is a heterogeneous cardiomyopathy characterized by ventricular enlargement and decreased systolic function. DCM has high incidence and low 5-year survival rate, the long-term prognosis is also poor. Professor Jin-Ru Fan thinks, this disease belongs to "heart distension" in traditional Chinese medicine, whose main pathological features are deficiency, stasis, phlegm and toxin. The treatment focuses on supplementing qi, transforming phlegm and stasis as well as resolving toxins. Professor Fan administers treatment according to pattern, creating "Yi Xin Xiao Zhang Decoction" , which makes the curative effect of patients with DCM improve significantly. The author recorded and summarized mentor's experience in diagnosis and treatment of DCM, sharing the experience and studying with all doctors.

摘要:The paper summarized professor ZHANG Zuozhou's experience in treating psoriasis from the pathogenesis of blood stasis and toxin. Professor ZHANG Zuozhou puts forward that "blood stasis and heat toxin accumulation" is the core pathogenesis of psoriasis, and the therapeutic methods are clearing heat, resolving toxins, invigorating blood circulation and dissolving stasis. Upholding the concept that "one recipe corresponds to one disease", he develops the self-made Jiedu Huoxue Decoction (解毒活血汤) as basic recipe, and modifies it based on syndromes. He advocates the flexible use of herbs and emphasizes the precaution on insect medicine. In his opinion, the healthy qi should be reinforced simultaneously when the pathogen is dispelled, and the spleen-stomach and yin-fluids should be cared always. He also advocates to reform the herbal preparation type for external application, and suggests using cream instead of traditional paste.

摘要:Deficiency of qi, blood, essence and yin is the core pathogenesis of many chronic diseases in the later stage. In clinical diagnosis and treatment of diseases with this kind of pathogenesis, Academician Tong Xiaolin first endeavors to know about the whole process of disease development horizontally, making clear the sequence and interrelation of deficiency of qi, blood, essence and yin, and then longitudinally distinguishes the primary and secondary pathogenesis of qi, blood, essence and yin at the moment, flexibly and precisely medicating according to the symptoms and severity of the disease. Milkvetch root, prepared rehmannia root and solomonseal rhizome are commonly used in the three-drug prescription to replenish qi, blood, essence and yin simultaneously. Milkvetch root is good at replenishing both qi and blood, and its dosage is mostly 30-120 g. Prepared rehmannia root is mainly used to replenish and nourish blood, yet also invigorate kidney and replenish essence, and its clinic dosage is mostly 15-60 g.For solomonseal rhizome, its function is mainly nourishing yin and essence. As solomonseal rhizome mainly acts on the the three meridians of lung, spleen and kidney, it can also nourish qi and blood. Its dosage is mostly 30-60 g. These three herbs have their own main functions, are compatible with each other, and also cooperate with each other to play the e ect of replenishing qi, blood, essence and yin.

摘要:Academician Tong Xiaolin believes that the crux of treating rhinitis lies in distinguishing between purulent snivel and clear snivel, in distinguishing between the presence and the absence of allergic reactions. When the key point of syndrome differentiation narrows down to yellow and thick nasal discharge, Academician Tong usually selects three kinds of medicines -- fried gardenia, forsythia, and mint -- to make up a small three-herb prescription.Fried Gardenia can clear fire and relieve trouble, clear away heat and detoxify. Forsythia can clear away heat and detoxify, dispel wind heat. And peppermint can dispel wind heat, clear wind heat lurked in the brain and eyes, relieve throat disorder and promote rash eruption. The three are mainly used to clear the heat of the upper jiao, playing the effect of clearing the nose orifices with a good effect in the treatment of rhinitis. The commonly used clinical dosages of this small prescription are mint 6-15 g, fried gardenia and forsythia 15-30 g.

摘要:The heart yang governs the yang qi of the whole body, and the kidney yang, namely “yuan yang“ , is the innate yang. The two are closely related and are particularly important in the yang qi of the five visceral organs.Heart yang and kidney yang are often damaged in the critical stage of chronic diseases or when diseases prolong for a long period, resulting in heart and kidney yang failure. Curculigo, epimedium and morinda root are commonly used clinically by Academician Tong Xiaolin to reinforce yang, especially heart and kidney yang. Curculigo can invigorate kidney yang, strengthen muscles and bones, dispel cold and dampness, and nourish the fire of life gate, with a common dosage 6-30 g. Epimedium can replenish life gate, nourish vital energy, strengthen muscles and bones, with a common dosage 9-30 g. Morinda root can invigorate kidney and reinforce yang, strengthen bones and muscles, dispel wind and remove dampness, with a common dosage 9-15 g.

摘要:Pain is one of the commonest clinical symptoms, which often affects the work and life of patients, and has received extensive attention in recent years. On the basis of discerning the cause of pain and the mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion analgesia, and in line with the traditional characteristics of meridian-collateral circulation and pain sites, Professor Sun Yuanzheng proposed the method of selecting points along meridians to treat pain, combining with the theory of “radically treating both manifestations and root cause of disease“ and following the acupoint selection principles of “where meridians run, where acuponts may be selected and treated as pain sites“ and “treating the upper disease in the lower part, treating the lower disease in the upper part“ . This therapy can be supplemented by exercises and its effi cacy is remarkable, especially in the treatment of soft tissue pain, worthy of clinical summary and application.

摘要:According to the basic pathogenesis of primary carcinoma of liver with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency as primary and syndrome of accumulation of blood stasis and toxin as secondary, Professor Cai Xiao-ping always uses the method of soothing liver and invigorating spleen and resolving blood stasis and removing toxin in clinical practice. He has established the basic formula for regulating liver and dispersing blockage for syndrome differentiation based on disease differentiation to modify flexibly. Professor Cai Xiao-ping points out that the common clinical syndrome types of primary carcinoma of liver include syndrome of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency, syndrome of accumulation of blood stasis and toxin, syndrome of accumulation of dampness and heat, and syndrome of liver-kidney yin deficiency. For syndrome of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency, the basic formula for regulating liver and dispersing blockage, Free Wanderer Powder, and Six Gentlemen Decoction are used alternately. For syndrome of accumulation of blood stasis and toxin which belongs to stagnated yang and toxin, the basic formula for regulating liver and dispersing blockage removing Xiangfu(Rhizoma Cyperi)and Honghua(Flos Carthami)while adding Chonglou(Rhizoma Paridis), Xiakucao(Spica Prunellae), Chansu(Venenum Bufonis), Yinchen(Herba Artemisiae Scopariae), Zhizi(Fructus Gardeniae)and Huashi(Talcum)can be used. For syndrome of accumulation of blood stasis and toxin which belongs to stagnated yin and toxin, the basic formula for regulating liver and dispersing blockage removing Huangqin(Radix Scutellariae)and Banzhilian(Herba Scutellariae Barbatae)and Zhebeimu(Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii)while adding Ganjiang(Rhizoma Zingiberis), Fuzi(Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata), Rougui(Cortex Cinnamomi)and Wuzhuyu(Fructus Evodiae)can be used. For syndrome of accumulation of dampness and heat, Four Substances Powder with Poria Plus Virgate Wormwood adding Chishao(Radix Paeoniae Rubra), stirfried Zhizi(Fructus Gardeniae)and Maidong(Radix Ophiopogonis)can be used. For syndrome of liver-kidney yin deficiency, Decoction for Nourishing Kidney and Clearing Liver can be mainly used. In terms of primary carcinoma of liver, Professor Cai advocates that the treatment should pay equal attention to Chinese and Western medicine, complement each other's advantages, and improve the clinical efficacy and the patients'quality of life.

摘要:Professor Zhang Qi, a master of traditional Chinese medicine, believes that the etiology and pathogenesis of overstrain strangury is deficiency in root and excess in manifestations, mixture of deficiency and excess, interaction of internal and external factors. Its affected site is mainly in the bladder, and is also closely related to the zang-fu viscera of kidney, sanjiao, lung, spleen, liver and so on. The disease tends to linger for some time and involves dysfunction of yin, yang, qi and blood in the internal organs. As the six channels are connected to the zang-fu viscera, the above symptoms can be reasonably differentiated and effectively treated by examining the channels of Taiyang, Yangming, Shaoyang, Taiyin, Shaoyin, and Jueyin. It can be effectively treated by critically selecting Taohuang Zhixue Decoction, Wuling Powder, Xiaochengqi Decoction, Xiaochaihu Decoction, Buzhong Yiqi Decoction, Bawei Shenqi Pills, Gualou Qumai Pills, Jiawei Sini Powder, etc.

摘要:Some patients with chronic atrophic gastritis are complicated with gallbladder disease, leaving gallbladder and stomach to suffer from the same disease. Biliary diseases can also be turned into a pathogenic factor for stomach diseases, which is mainly responsible for promoting the prolonged progression of gastric mucosal lesions. Professor Xie Jingri advocated microcosmic syndrome differentiation based on gastroscopy and pathological manifestations. Chronic atrophic gastritis is characterized by a mixture of deficiency and excess: lack of nourishment in the stomach as root deficiency, phlegm turbidity, blood stasis and heat toxicity as disease symptoms, while conveyance and dispersion failure in liver as intermediary, which jointly lead to the pathogenesis of bile dysfunction and disharmony between spleen and stomach. The treatment is centered on dredging liver and activating qi flowing, focusing on invigorating gallbladder and draining viscera, and harmonizing stomach for descending adverse qi. Methods should be applied for clearing heat, resolving phlegm, dredging collaterals, promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis and detoxification according to specific syndromes, bringing about a remarkable clinical effect. This paper introduces Professor Xie’s experience in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, providing an innovative idea for the clinical treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis.

摘要:Febrile seizure is a common clinical emergency and intensive disease in pediatrics, the prevention and treatment of pediatric febrile seizure should follow the principles of combining disease and syndrome, preventing seizure with the development of disease, and preventing diseases before onset. During the acute exacerbation period, the basic treatment is to clear heat, eliminate phlegm, relieve seizure, and stop wind based on performing antispasmodic measures for the first, and identifying four syndromes including heat, phlegm, fright, and wind. At the initial stage of the disease, antipyretic and antispasmodic medicine such as Lingzhu powder should be applied as early as possible to prevent seizure caused by extreme heat. During the interictal period, the main treatment is to adjust the physical condition. Jinping decoction is prescribed to supplement the lung and consolidate the exterior along with nourish the heart and calm the liver, to achieve the purpose of preventing before disease onset, preventing fever from external contraction, and reducing the occurrence of seizure.

摘要:Chronic ulcerative colitis (CUC) is a colorectal non-specific inflammatory bowel disease whose etiology is not completely clear till now. Professor Lu Jingen argues that it is closely related to liver and spleen. Its main pathogenesis is dampness-heat in large intestine caused by stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency. He believes that its treatment should start from liver and spleen. The treatment principle is to invigorate spleen and disperse stagnated liver qi, clear heat and promote diuresis, and cool blood and arrest bleeding. The clinical joint use of Tongxie Fang and Baitouweng Decoction has a remarkable curative effect. The purpose of this article is to introduce Professor Lu Jingen's experience in using this prescription to treat CUC, so as to provide ideas for its treatment with traditional Chinese medicine.

摘要:Professor Lin Lan believes that hyperthyroidism exophthalmos can be differentiated and treated in three phases. In the early stage, it is mainly caused by excess, commonly manifested by the syndrome of liver depression and qi stagnation. In the middle stage, the disease is due to intermingled def i ciency and excess, with impaired yin by liver f i re as its manifestation. In the later stage, the disease is mainly caused by def i ciency, more commonly manifested by the def i ciency of spleen and kidney. Its etiology and pathogenesis are rather complex, particularly related to emotional disorders. Professor Lin Lan maintains that thyroid gland belongs to extraordinary fu-viscera, and when it fails to assist the liver to perform its primary function of conveyance and dispersing, f l uid can not be properly transported and transformed, with phlegm being coagulated and qi being congealed, leading to obstructed eye collaterals and exophthalmos. The principle of treatment is advocated to combine traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine, to f l exibly conduct syndrome differentiation, mainly focusing on soothing the liver and regulating qi, dissipating phlegm and dispersing masses, supplemented by nourishing yin and clearing away heat, relieving liver depression, invigorating the spleen and resolving dampness, warming and tonifying kidney yang. The symptom of exophthalmos should be paid close attention to when formulating prescriptions by adding or subtracting drugs rationally according to the symptoms.

摘要:By discussing and summarizing Professor ZHOU Zhong-ying's clinical thinking and experience in treating epilepsy from wind and phlegm, and attaching an introduction of case studies, we hope to provide reference for clinical practice.Professor ZHOU Zhong-ying put forward that the core pathogenesis of epilepsy is"wind-phlegm closure and mental failure"based on many years of practice. The pathogenesis of wind phlegm is characterized by glue hardening, multiple viscera and multiple syndromes. The clinical syndromes are most related to wind, phlegm, fire, blood stasis and deficiency. The therapeutic principle is distinguishing the primary and secondary of deficiency and excess. It is not necessary to absolutely divide the onset period and the rest period. It is emphasized that the deficiency may not be fully replenished when the patient is in the rest period, and the expelling wind and resolving phlegm should be throughout the treatment.Compound prescriptions are often used. This paper also summarizes ZHOU Zhong-ying's basic prescriptions for the treatment of epilepsy and the additions and subtractions commonly used, and concretely analyses the medication characteristics.

摘要:The Spleen and Stomach Qi rises and falls abnormally, which leads to the Qi and Fire stagnation within. Desquamative cheilitis is caused by the spleen and stomach fire. Wang Yangang believes that starting from adjusting the lifting and lowering of the Spleen and Stomach Qi movement, the normal ascending and dispersing Qi would dispel the Fire. The commonly used methods of ascending and dispersing Qi are method of dispersing with fragrant drugs, method of raising the Yang Qi, the method of invigorating the Spleen and raising the Yang and the method of relieving exterior syndrome and dispersing Fire. The most frequently used Qi descending method is descending Stomach Qi, combining with soothing Liver Qi, clearing and descending Lung Qi. Clinical practice has proved that "adjusting the up and down of Qi to relieve the stagnated Fire" in treatment of desquamative cheilitis has definite effect.
