Mineral drug is a general name of both non-metallic minerals and metallic minerals in traditional Chinese medicine, which has been widely used in clinical practice from pre Qin period to present. Mineral drugs have the effects of calming the nerves, tonifying deficiency, clearing heat and promoting astriction, while during external uses, they have the effects of killing insects and antisepsis. Comparing with herbal drugs, they have characteristics of mental disorder having to be cured with weighty sedatives, reducing adverseness, entering the kidney and communicating the spirit. We are experienced in treating various mental diseases by using mineral drugs. They have the effect of calming the nerves, waking up the patient from unconsciousness by eliminating phlegm, soothing the liver by suppressing yang, clearing away heat to arrest irritability and protecting the stomach by dissolving stones.
