Discussion on ZHANG Zhenyu's Academic Thoughts on Treating Distention and Fullness
Summarize ZHANG Zhenyu's academic thoughts on treating distention and fullness. ZHANG Zhenyu believes that the treatment of distention and fullness is based on protecting the healthy Qi. The spleen and stomach are responsible for their respective positions in the treatment of distention and fullness, and the restoration of the elevation of central Qi is used. Among them, if the function of spleen is not used properly, the method of moving the breath should be used; if the position of spleen is not right, the method of adjusting and nourishing the heart and spleen should be used; if the function of stomach is not used properly, the method of regulating the breath should be used;if the position of stomach is not right, the method of clearing heat and harmonizing stomach should be used;if the function of spleen and stomach are not properly used, the Qi should be evenly distributed, and the Qi regulating method shall be given if the body of spleen and stomach is not properly located. Generally speaking, the spleen should be treated mainly because of its improper position and correspondingly the left part is dysfunction;the stomach should be harmonized largely because of its improper position and correspondingly the right part is disordered; When both of the spleen and stomach lose their position, the main principle is treating them at the same time. And pay attention to the regulation of wood and soil, from the liver treatment of distention and fullness.
