Huang Tao's Experience of Treating Sweating Syndrome with Wind Medicinals
Professor Huang Tao believes that the pathogenesis of sweating is defensive ,qi, failing to open and close, the loose interstitial striae and the leakage of nutrient yin. Nutrient and defense ,qi, is rooted in the middle energizer. The ,qi, of the spleen and stomach in the middle energizer (middle ,qi,)is to lift the ,qi, of the five internal organs. The treatment should focus on the middle ,qi, and the body cardinal. Center-Supplementing and ,Qi,-Boosting Decoction can invigorate the middle ,qi, and ascend the lucid ,qi,. Wind medicinals can be added to enhance the effect of eliminating wind and removing dampness, dispersing stagnant heat, and opening interstitial striae and channels. In clinical practice, Mahuang(,Herba Ephedrae,), Guizhi(,Ramulus Cinnamomi,), Jingjie(,Herba Schizonepetae,), Fangfeng(,Radix Saposhnikoviae,), Qianghuo(,Radix et Rhizoma Notopterygii,), Baizhi(,Radix Angelicae Dahuricae,), Gaoben(,Rhizoma Ligustici,), Bohe(,Herba Menthae,), Gegen(,Radix Puerariae Lobatae,)are often selected so as to restore defense yang, maintain nutrient yin, harmonize nutrient and defense ,qi, which can heal sweating.
