Identification and Treatment of Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation from Mutual Fanning of Liver Wind and Heart Fire
Through summarizing the pathogenesis of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation in which "liver wind is the trigger, heart fire is the source, and wind and fire fan each other" combined with the experience in identifying and treating its related clinical syndromes, Dong Qimei, the instructor of the inheritance of academic experience of well-known veteran traditional Chinese medicine experts, concludes that liver and kidney deficiency, internal growth of stagnated fire and deficiency fire are the sources of atrial fibrillation. In addition, she also believes that the stirring of internal wind, mutual fanning of internal wind and fire, the carry of phlegm and stasis, as well as the violation of the heart and brain are the key to its pathogenesis. The core treatment method of nourishing yin and restraining wind, draining fire and subduing palpitations are proposed, and this academic thought guides the clinical treatment of atrial fibrillation with good efficacy.
