Analysis of LIU Jianhe's Experience on Treating Hypertension with Wendan Decoction (温胆汤)
Professor LIU Jianhe takesthe pathogenesis of Wendan Decoction (温胆汤) and the pathogenesis of hypertension are both phlegm-turbidity and dampness-heat, and the syndrome treated by Wendan Decoction is closely related to the symptoms of hypertension as the entry point. It is believed that Wendan Decoction can eliminate the phlegm-turbidity and dampness-heat by removing phlegm and relaxing the middle, harmonizing stomach andbile-draining, and clearing heat and drying dampness, so as to eliminate all the symptoms of hypertension. From the perspective of modern medicine, Wendan Decoction can effectively control and lower blood pressure by inhibiting the activation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RASS), diuresis, inhibiting sympathetic excitationand protecting vascular endothelial function. Using this theory as a guide and using the soup flexibly to prevent and treat hypertension, the effect is quite remarkable.
