Professor Zhao Wenhai's clinical experience in treating knee osteoarthritis from the perspective of the kidney
Knee osteoarthritis is one of the common degenerative joint diseases. Professor Zhao Wenhai believes that its etiology is the depletion of essence and qi in the kidney, combined with prolonged overwork, resulting in the poor circulation of blood and qi, evil invasion into the collaterals, and stagnation in the joints. The key of its pathogenesis lies in kidney deficiency, blood stasis and obstruction. Therefore, according to the treatment principle of " the kidney diseases should be treated by treating the bone diseases" , he proposes the diagnosis and treatment method of " tonifying the kidney, promoting blood circulation, and eliminating obstruction" , and is good at using couplet medicines for its treatment on the basis of syndrome differentiation, achieving a good curative effect of strengthening the vital qi to eliminate pathogenic factors.
