Insomnia is a common clinical disease, its core pathogenesis is the imbalance between Yin and Yang, Yang could not enter Yin, and the inducing factors are numerous and complicated, which involve emotion, diet, fatigue, long illness etc. The treatment methods involved in clinical syndrome differentiation treatment are also abundant. In the relevant records of ,Treatise on Febrile Diseases, there were many articles about the expression of insomnia, which were almost carried out throughout the six meridians. In this paper, Shaoyin disease would be considered as a breakthrough point, we focused on the different states of "Yang Qi" in the course of shaoyin disease, and summed up the essential pathogenesis of "Yang failure" "Yin deficiency" "Yang stagnation" , through which could we discuss the main syndromes and related treatment principles of insomnia.
