LIAN Fang's Experience on Treating Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome
Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is one of the most common iatrogenic complications in the luteal phase or early pregnancy after assisted reproductive technology. Its main pathological features are ovarian enlargement, systemic capillary hyperplasia and permeability fluid exudation, blood concentration, and imbalance of water and electrolyte balance, often seen in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome. Professor LIAN Fang believes that the pathogenesis of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is caused by deficiency of spleen and kidney, water and body fluid retention, and then affects the movement of Qi and blood, which can lead to pathological changes such as Qi stagnation, blood stasis and phlegm obstruction. Among them, the main medical treatment is warming Yang and invigorating spleen, promoting water and Qi, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, Shenling Baizhu Powder (参苓白术散) and Erxian Tiaojing Formula (二仙调经方) are the main prescriptions. In the treatment of Western medicine, we should pay attention to timely supplement body fluid to correct the state of low blood volume, maintain the acid-base balance of water and electrolyte and plasma colloid osmotic pressure, and prevent a series of complications such as liver and kidney dysfunction, circulatory failure and thrombosis. Based on many years of clinical experience, Professor LIAN Fang often prevents and treats the disease from the perspective of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine according to the individual situation of patients. Taking into account both specimens and disease syndromes, the treatment can achieve significant clinical efficacy.
