A Case of Migraine Treated by Jiawei Siwutang for More than 20 Years
The patient is a middle-aged and elderly woman. The main reason is that "the headache has been repeated for more than 20 years and worsened for 1 year". The patient had headache after catching cold more than 20 years ago, mainly on the left temporal top, with dull pain. The pain lasts for about 3-5 times a month and lasts for about 2-5 hours each time. It can be induced when he is tired or thinks too much. In severe cases, it is accompanied by tears, nausea without vomiting, fear of light and sound, and headache can be relieved after taking ibuprofen and other pain relief drugs or rest, without regular treatment. One year ago, the patient suffered from headache again due to tiredness, mainly at the left temporal top, with faint pain, nausea and fear of light. The effect of taking ibuprofen was not good. Since then, the headache occurred repeatedly and was unbearable, so he went to the outpatient department of our hospital. Traditional Chinese medicine diagnosed headache (blood deficiency syndrome) and Western medicine diagnosed migraine. Ibuprofen sustained-release capsules were given to relieve pain in western medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine takes nourishing blood and activating blood, dispelling wind and relieving pain as the method, and adds or subtracts Jiawei Siwutang. On this basis, after more than one month of treatment, the patient's headache was significantly improved, the number, degree, duration and accompanying symptoms of headache were improved, and the quality of life was improved.,Summary of case history, The patient suffered from headache after catching cold more than 20 years ago and was not treated regularly.
