Professor Liu Daxin's Case Study on the Treatment of Nasal Deafness
Summary of case history, Chief Complaint: Nasal deafness for 2 years, aggravated for 1 year. The patient caught cold when the autumn and winter seasons alternated three years ago, and then developed nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, headache, and no fever and abnormal sense of smell. Go to the pharmacy by yourself to buy Ganmao Qingre Granules, 2 times a day, 1 bag each time, take with water. After one week of treatment, the symptoms of nasal congestion, runny nose and sneezing disappeared and the drug was discontinued. Over the past 2 years, the patient's sense of smell has gradually diminished, and the smell is difficult to distinguish. In the past 1 year, it has been progressively worsening, only smelling irritating odors such as alcohol, even loss of smell, occasional nasal congestion and runny nose, loss of taste, no fever, aversion to cold, headache, dizziness, and no systematic diagnosis and treatment in the hospital. Now for treatment, he is in the outpatient clinic of Mr. Liu Daxin. Engraved syndrome: loss of sense of smell, stuffy nose and dry nose, bitter mouth and dry throat, no headache, fatigue, poor appetite, poor sleep, and smooth bowel movements. Check: The nasal mucosa is light red, the inferior turbinates are slightly swollen, the nasal septum is centered, and the middle meatus and olfactory cleft are clean. Chronic hyperemia of the pharynx, 2 degrees of tonsils, no pus; smooth external auditory canals, intact tympanic membranes, and clear signs. Dark tongue with tooth marks, red tongue tip, white coating, bruised, varicose sublingual pulse with thin string. There were no obvious abnormalities in nasal endoscopy and sinus CT examination. T,&,T Olfactory Test olfactory function test result: ,>, 5.6 (complete loss). Usually tired from work, irregular life, afraid of cold, easy to be nervous and anxious. No drug allergy or family history.,TCM diagnosis, Nasal deafness Liver stagnation and spleen deficiency, blood stasis blocking orifices syndrome.,Western medicine diagnosis, Olfactory disorder,Therapeutic methods, Chinese medicine granules, take twice a day;Acupuncturing Yingxiang, Yintang, Bitong, Fengchi, Hegu, Zusanli, Xuehai, Taichong, etc. every other day;Rinse nasal cavity with normal saline, twice a day.,Clinical outcomes, Smell detection 4.0 degrees, can distinguish fragrance and odor.
