The case of WANG Zhuxing Treating Chronic Motor Tic Disorder
Summary of case history, A female patient, aged 9 years and 4 months, was admitted to the hospital on September 22, 2021, because of "repeated blinking for 6 years, aggravation with wrinkled nose and crooked mouth for half a year". The symptoms is involuntary blinking, which improves on its own.She was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome and treated at Children's Hospital,and was given Oral tiapride and clonidine transdermal patches,which can help her to relive the symptoms relatively。Then She was diagnosed with chronic motor tic disorder and was easy to appear habitual blinking, accompanied by winking, when she was excited and running, and always thirsty for drink, with poor concentration and poor academic performance, eat and sleep normally.Red tongue, thin white coating, pulse string. She had a history of frequent fever in childhood.,TCM diagnosis, Spasmodic disease (stirring syndrome by yin deficiency),Modern medicine diagnosis, Chronic motor tic disorder,Therapeutic methods, The main principle of Chinese medicine is to relieve the liver and calm the wind, nourish Yin and clear heat and channel the collaterals. The core prescription of Chinese medicine is bupleurum, Scutellaria baicalensis, chrysanthemum, ginger and Pinellia pinellia, Rehmanniae rehmannii, suberathia spatholobi, Rhizoma spatholobi, Radix paeoniae, ossa draconis, oyster, Rhizoma ligustici wallichii, Angelica dahurica, Kudzu root , and Digilong.,Clinical outcomes, After 4 months of treatment, the patient's eye blink disappeared, mouth twitch significantly reduced, facial convulsions rarely occurred, concentration improved, academic performance improved, and the condition was basically cured.
