A case on the treatment of Guillain-Barré syndrome from the perspective of the spleen, kidney and liver
Summary of case history, In February 2020, the patient developed limb weakness, walking difficulties, poor grip on both hands, accompanied by numbness, glove and sock-like sensory changes after a fever, and was diagnosed with Gillan-Barré syndrome in the local hospital. The patient did not achieve the desired effect after immunoglobulin treatment. He was admitted to our outpatient clinic on June 12, 2020.,TCM diagnosis, Paralysis disease, Spleen and kidney insufficiency, deficiency of qi and blood, wet stasis obstruction syndrome.,Western medicine diagnoses, Guillain-Barré syndrome.,Therapeutic methods, Intervention measures TCM treatment was based on Chinese medicine decoction of Dangguibuxue, Taohongsiwu and spleen- kidneyWarm up medicines to warm the spleen and kidney, nourish the blood and soft tendons, and treat the symptoms of stasis and dampness.,Clinical outcomes, About 1 week after the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine the patient felt that the weakness of both lower limbs improved, and after 1 month, the walking difficulty improved significantly, the strength of the hands improved, and the weak dorsal flexion improved. After 5 months of treatment, the numbness of the patient's limbs improved significantly. The patient did not complain any discomfort during the latest follow-up observation on July 12, 2022.
