One Medical Case: Treatment of Language Retarded with Hyperactivity Based on the Theory of Treating Different Diseases with the Same Method增强出版
Summary of case history ,Wang, male, 9 years old, went to Professor Wang Sumei's clinic on November 8th, 2021 because of "slow language development for more than 6 years". More than 6 years ago, he presented with slow language development and less eye contact, and was later treated in another hospital. After completing relevant examinations, developmental delay was considered, including autism spectrum disorder, and no definite diagnosis was given. After intermittent sensory integration training and oral treatment with Traditional Chinese medicine, his language development was slightly improved. For the further improvement, his parents want TCM treatment. Symptoms and signs: the patient lacked active language, made little eye contact, did not follow instructions, was irritable, inattentive, hyperactive and restless at night. The tongue was red, the moss was yellow and thick and greasy, and the pulse felt slippery.,TCM diagnosis ,five kinds of retardation-language retardation, deficiency of the spleen and kidney; hysteria, phlegm-fire agitating the mind.,Western medicine diagnosis ,language development delay to be checked, social (pragmatic) communication disorder is likely, autism spectrum disorder is not excluded; attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder.,Therapeutic methods ,Traditional Chinese medicine granule oral treatment mainly, with behavioral rehabilitation training.,Clinical outcomes ,After six months of medication, the patient's communication ability and attention was improved.
