Gegen Decoction for scapulohumeral periarthritis: Proven Cases by Prof. Wang Qingguo
Scapulohumeral periarthritis corresponds to ",Bi, syndrome" in traditional Chinese medicine. Patients with this disease suffer a lot, and their daily life is often greatly disturbed, with lowered life quality. Professor Wang Qingguo has rich experience in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis. He believes that scapulohumeral periarthritis is mostly caused by cold evil, and he emphasizes that the cold gathering in the meridians is its core pathogenesis. In clinical practice, Professor Wang often uses the classic prescription ,Gegen, Decoction to treat scapulohumeral periarthritis. It has good results regardless of etiological factors, whether it is caused by exogenous contraction or internal injuries. Professor Wang has formed a unique system of differentiation and treatment, with featured dosages and addition and subtraction. Based on the typical cases of clinical treatment of exogenous scapulohumeral periarthritis and internal injury scapulohumeral periarthritis, this paper introduces the diagnosis and treatment ideas and medication experience of Professor Wang in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis.
