Summary of case history ,The patient Jiao, male, 43 years old, visited the outpatient department of our hospital on July 15, 2021 because of "intermittent diarrhea and abdominal pain for more than 1 year, which worsened for 3 days". The patient developed symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and post-diarrheal pain reduction due to emotional anxiety one year ago, which was ignored. Since then, the above symptoms have appeared intermittently, and an electronic colonoscopy was performed in Zanhuang County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine more than two months ago. Three days ago, the patient was emotionally stimulated due to a family accident, resulting in aggravation of diarrhea, abdominal distension and pain, so he came to our hospital for treatment..Symptoms and signs: diarrhea, 3-4 times/day, abdominal distention and pain relief after diarrhea, bitterness in the mouth, fullness of the right flank, belching, poor appetite, usually fond of meat, retching, nausea, anxiety, poor sleep sound, dark tongue, thin coating White, thin pulse.,TCM disease and syndrome ,Diarrhea (Syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency),Western medicine diagnosis, Irritable bowel syndrome,Therapeutic methods ,Traditional Chinese medicine treats the disease by soothing the liver, strengthening the spleen, and stomach to stop diarrhea, and taking traditional Chinese medicine decoction orally; Light diet; Regulate emotions,Clinical outcomes ,The patient's stool is formed, 1-2 times/day, and he reports that he has no obvious discomfort, a comfortable mood, and a sweet smell. The patient was followed up by telephone for 3 months after drug withdrawal. The above symptoms did not recur, and the treatment was effective.
