A Case of Tic Disorder in Children Treated with the Method of Suppressing the Liver and Supporting the Spleen增强出版
Summary of case history ,Yue, a 12-year-old boy, presented to the hospital with "eye squeezing and voice in the throat for more than 1 year". He was diagnosed with "tic disorder" and was treated with Colistin transdermal patch without any significant improvement. After treatment with Colistin transdermal patch, no significant improvement was observed. The symptoms were: repeated squeezing of the eyes, grinning, "oh-oh" sound in the throat, occasional obscenities, spitting and salivation, involuntary shaking of the right side of the limbs, which was obvious when he was agitated. He has normal vital signs and is in good general condition, with a pale complexion, blue around the eyes, conjunctival congestion, and no abnormalities in the heart, lungs or abdomen. The tongue is light red, with a thin, white, greasy coating and a thin, stringent pulse.,TCM diagnosis, Tic disorder; evidence of spleen deficiency and liver exuberance.,Western medicine diagnosis, Tic disorder in children (Tourette's syndrome).,Therapeutic methods ,The Chinese herbal medicine Qing Long Stop Motion is given orally with addition and reduction.,Clinical outcomes ,The child's tic symptoms improved and the Yale General Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS) score decreased.
