One Case of Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis Treated in Traditional Chinese Medicine by Professor Wang Zhen增强出版
Summary of case history ,Patient, male, 62 years old. On June 22, 2020, he went to see a doctor because of "finding interstitial changes in both lungs for more than 7 years, diagnosed with Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis for 3 years. In March 2015, Chest Computed Tomography examination revealed multiple focal interstitial changes in his both lungs. The diagnosis of his disease was unclear,and no special treatment was given. Repeated Chest Computed Tomography examination after 3 years showed that his disease was progressing. On October 26, 2018, a bronchoscopy biopsy was performed, and the pathology showed that pink granular material deposition in the alveoli and periodic acid Schiff staining was positive.Therefore he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis. Due to his condition was still mild,no treatment was given. He regularly reviewed Chest Computed Tomography, which suggested that the condition had progressed slightly. In order to seek Chinese Medicine treatment, he went to the outpatient clinic of Chief Physician Wang Zhen.Symptoms and signs: are that he felt feeble, occasionally coughed,and occasionally coughed up phlegm. The white and sticky phlegm was a less. He was short of breath after no activity. The appetite and sleep quality were good. He had loose stool two or three times a day. The urine was normal. Dark red tongue, thin, yellow and greasy tongue coating, thin and astringen pulse.,TCM diagnosis, Endogenous Cough,deficiency of lung and spleen,internal accumulation of phlegm, blood stasis and poison.,Western medicine diagnosis ,Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis.,Therapeutic methods ,Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment is given.The therapeutic methods are Strengthening the spleen and benefitting the lung, dispelling phlegm and removing blood stasis,and eliminating the evil of heat and poison. In the early stage,the focus is on removing turbidity, and in the later stage,the focus is on supporting righteousness, according to the evolution of syndromes.,Clinical outcomes ,The patient has been taking Chinese herbal medicine for 2 years, and an re-examination of Chest Computed Tomography shows that the multiple lesions in both lungs are partially absorbed.
