Summary of case history ,Liu, a 59-year-old female. After too much eating and arguing with her friends, she had difficulty in swallowing, could not eat or drink, and vomited when he ate. After 3 days of unrelieved symptoms, the patient gradually developed dizziness, panic and weakness, and was treated with intravenous sodium chloride glucose injection in the emergency department of a hospital for energy supplementation. Then, the symptoms of panic and weakness subsided, however, she was still unable to swallow food or water, and suffered from frequent hiccups. She came to our clinic on the 5th day after the onset of her symptoms to seek acupuncture treatment.,TCM diagnosis ,Yege Tanqijiaozu.,Western medicine diagnosis ,Vegetative nerve dysfunction.,Therapeutic methods ,Acupuncture at acupoints including Tiantu, Futu, Danzhong, Zhongwan, and Neiguan , etc, with manipulations performed. Needles were remained for 30 minutes.,Clinical outcomes ,After 1 treatment, the patient could drink a small amount of warm water the next day. Then she could slowly eat liquid food, and gradually returned to normal diet after 6 treatments.
